Opinion: Yates Racing

Many of you are aware of the recent struggles in performance of Yates Racing. With Dale Jarrett and and the rumored departure of Elliott Sadler from Yates Racing this leaves two high profile rides open in 2007. In your opinion who will be filling these seats for Yates Racing and will the team find success next year?

I will start this off. I believe Yates will be back to running up front. Much like Childress they need to step back during the off period and determine what should be corrected.

As far as drivers for the #38 and #88. I think its obvious that they are preparing the young and talented Stephen Leicht to take over one of the rides in 2007, probably the #88. Now, the other job is up in the air. Some candidates that I would look at include Dave Gilliland, Ward Burton, and Jon Wood.

Not sure who will get these rides. I could see Ward in the #88. Heck, it could be someone from open wheel.

The Leicht Kid and David Ruetimann.

Yates will be back. Their old school and just like Childress, they too will get back on their feet. Now for their drivers. I would not mind seeing what that Gilliland kid could do with the right equipment.

I agree that we will see Ward Burton in a Yates car next season...not sure who will fill the driver position in the other car....I have a feeling it will be Leicht.

I have a feeling that Ward Burton will take the #88 because I read an article where he mentioned it.
