Opinion: Should you be able to buy your way into a race??

Michael Waltrip has been struggling this year and that was ever present as Waltrip was unable to qualify for the Coca-Cola 600 set for this Sunday. But unlike the other 10 or so drivers who packed their bags, Waltrip pulled out the checkbook and bought a lower income team that had made the race on time, in this case it was the car drove by Derrick Cope. Waltrip now (with a little money) has a car in the race. Do you think this is right??

Ha..This topic is getting plenty of opinion on nascar.com as well & I thought you would address it over here as well.

I have nothing against Michael Waltrip but I think that’s pretty dirty. You have to make it on speed (he had a shot & could not make the top 35 in points) pure & simple. This will be a reoccurring thing for bigger teams who are struggling. Plus, I'm sure Toyota stuck some money in Derrick Copes back pocket.

I like Miky but that was questionable.
